Abstract:
The monograph finds out important theoretical and practical problems of modern Ukrainian and Slavic lexicography in whole, proposes concepts and methods of compiling new dictionaries of various types, characterizes lexicographic language models, and pays attention to the dictionary systems of the 21st century as tools for language research. The study aims to solve the problems of explanatory, computer, authorial, terminological, and onomastic lexicography, phraseography and rhymography, creation of linguistic databases, lexicographic modeling of the research results in ethnolinguistics, sociolinguistics, stylistics, and language culture.
The collection is international in scope, uniting over thirty scientists from Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, and Germany. Ukrainian contributors represent leading academic institutions, including the Institute of the Ukrainian Language and the O.O. Potebnia Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv), Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, Lutsk National Technical University, and Lviv Polytechnic National University.
